Dinner Party Questions

I had an interview today for a retail position at Liz Claiborne, and I feel my experience is blog worthy. Interviews are always so funny to me because they challenge your "think on your feet" skills which apparently I am pretty good at, but yet I still always seem to start sweating in the most ill-fitted areas even if my answers are good. Everyone DOES get nervous for interviews, and if you don't well, let's just hope you're Ed Wood and find ways to make yourself look good in any situation(even if you don’t).
At my interview today I had 2 young ladies questioning me. (As if one isn't enough to make my eyebrows sweat.) But I should first say that I already knew one of my interviewers (the one who offered me the job). The other girl I did not know, but I took a deep breath and walked into the room with confidence despite the fact.

The girls are asking me questions, role play ones. "What would you do if you had to deal with an angry customer? How would you prioritize throughout the day? What if a woman tries on pants that are too tight for her but she loves them? What would you say?

My answers were good. They were organized in a nervous, scatterbrained fashion, but I think I did ok, besides the fact that my legs wouldn't stop sweating and I could feel the back of my dress beginning to stick to my lower back. MMM COMFORTABLE.

The second interviewer turns to me and says, "Ok, last question! If you were having a dinner party, who would you invite?" .........................................................................................................................................................Brendan Fraser?? Just kiding.

I find this question really interesting because I could go 2 ways with it. I considered giving "awww" inducing, safe answers such as, "Mother Theresa" "Joan of Arc" and some other really kind hearted, good person. But instead I told the truth which is the other way to go about it."Karl Lagerfeld, Scarlet Johannsen, Augusten Burroughs." Good answers I believe, and truthful too. Who wouldn't want to enjoy a meal with Lagerfeld, even if that meal is cracker crumbs? and Scarlet? I love her, I really do. My favorite movies of hers are Lost in translation and The Nanny Diaries. and Augusten Burroughs is a given. He's my favorite author, and I'd love to hear about his psychotic mother over a plate of salmon. Wouldn't you?
