Edie Free

My email address reads "ee die free", but in actuality it’s referring to Edie Sedgwick and my first name.
I put Edie in the same category as Michael Jackson, and among other celebrities who never had a genuine and youthful childhood. Sadly, due to this reason Edie and Michael both lived stolen lives. I've always been inspired by Edie. Her style, her youthful and effervescent personality, and her "it-girl' originality have always harbored my affection. She always seemed to be dancing through life, although she lived a tragic one.

Wondering Where

Read the directions and
directly you will be directed
in the right direction.
disengage the direction
and directly you will
enter
bathroom mode.
The struggle is there,
between this direction and that.
But without directions
you will directly
enter
chaos theory
between your mind and
your mouth.

Betsey and the Muse

I haven't posted in a while due to excessive labor de retail. (I have such a hard life.!) I'm getting accustomed to working at Betsey and I've made a list of things to remember throughout my work day.

1. Always greet customers as soon as they walk in the door.
2. Arrive 30 mins early to open the store.
3. Reapply lipstick as soon as it wears off.
4. Leave credit card at home.
5. Ignore the 70% off discount for employee appreciation week.
6. Leave credit card at home.
7. Remember this is a job, so hate it.

Unfortunately I've neglected to follow #'s 4,5,6, & 7. Rats.

=) Anyway, this is what I bought today!

I LOVE Patti Boyd(as well as The Beatles). She is iconic of the 1960's for obvious reasons, like dating George Harrison and Eric Clapton, but she also made a name for herself in the fashion industry by modeling. She was the muse of key photographers and designers when they were mearly fledglings. From her bio("Wonderful Tonight") it seemed like it was so simple to make it big in the industry in those days. Everything was so fresh and new.

"An oversized silhouette and nonchalant feel"

Today I am working on the sketches for my clothing line that I fantasize about every other day. Inspired by dance, yoga and poetry, my line would consist of many glorified, oversized sweatshirt pieces in greys, dark reds, and ballet pinks.

Ashish Gupta(also known as the "King of Sequins)'s SS10 line is described as "Sportwear meets Punk" that has an "oversized silhouette and nonchalant feel." I love this line because it further encourages my obsession with embellishing the sweat suit. His newest creations are a bit more hardcore than what I invision for my line, but I love the direction he has taken.

Betsey samples January & February

My Sample #1- January

Betsey Johnson
Painted Roses Cotton Lycra Sheath Dress
CARE: MACHINE WASH COLDCONTENT: 95 COTTON 5 SPANDEXCOO: CHINACLOSURE: BUTTON FRONT LENGTH: HP 32.875
I love this dress. It's super feminine with a punky edge. Now if only someone would buy the last one so that I can wear it. =)

#2-February (In Black)
Betsey Johnson
Rosebud Print Sweat Skirt
CARE: MACHINE WASH COLDCONTENT: 90 COTTON 10 POLY COO: USALENGTH: CF LENGTH 14.25CLOSURE: PULLOVER
At first I wasn't too stoked about this skirt, the ruffles in the back seemed a bit peacockish. But once I tried it on I knew it had to be mine. The ruffles add some texture, and make the skirt unique. It's a staple with flair.

Shear Genius - Photos - Episode 1 Picture # 23

Click this link and check out # 23. It's another reason why I'm growing my hair out. Extensions would be cool too. For my fashion show my model's hair would be styled this way. And some with updos.

Acne's New New

Acne's new ready to wear collection was inspired by Star Wars figurines.

Please consider this fact for a moment. Let it float into your brain and wain back and forth between your cerebral cortex and frontal lobes. AMAZING right??
I've been obsessed with Star Wars ever since I was about 8 years old, and my sister would cry if she couldn't be Princess Leia when we'd act out scenes from the Episodes.
This line is ethereal. Here are a few of my favorites so far. Compliments of Style.com.

The last 2 are my favorites...I love the oversize t shirts and drapey pants with zippered ankles, the galaxy, starry prints, and the insane armor like embellishments on the boots and heels. I would die for any of these outfits. I forgot to mention my obsession with the scarves that really shout credibility with their impressive teared tassel ends.

INSANE in the membrane people! <3

SCARVESSINLOVE

Photobucket
I forget where I got this picture...eek, but I'm in love with this look. The scarf is superb in it's chunky glory, and the color is bright and eye catching. I love the model's undone braid and it inspires me to continue growing my hair out. The vintage tank + bomber jacket is great, I've been meaning to get one but keep forgetting. And of course adding a pleated skirt with this combination is fabulous and super trendy.

I know I talked some trash about MK and A Olsen in a previous post, but for this post I will be slightly hypocritical and say that I do love MK's scarf in this picture. I love the red and gray print, and its thrifty looking which is all the more appealing. Along with the plethora of rings on Mk's fingers, I'd say this outfit is very me-ish & I dig it. It's comprised of the "I don't really give a fuck if I look like I didn't take a shower" + "I'm still trendy, and can pull off the messy look" attitude. How's that for arrogance? Oh and I forgot to mention, I got this picture from the blog "Olsen's Anonymous" (for credential purposes).

Photobucket

I took this picture at a boutique near my apartment about 2 months ago. I apologize for the poor quality, but I had to hurry seeing as how I was being a stalker and attempting to pay for an item I couldn't afford, at the same time. I love the bohemian designed scarf added to this otherwise casual outfit. I caught myself starring a few times and seeing as how this action is nothing but rude, I quickly snapped a picture instead (while my phone was on silent...of course). I know, really creepy right… but I loved it. It's simple yet refined. Cuteness.

OK I'm off to go on a run. Hope you like my pictures =) =)

Chanel Clogs, Menswear, and Celebrity branded Perfumes

For this RR I am going to start with my thoughts on a fad that has unfortunately been blossoming the past few years. And that is celebrities promoting and selling their own lines of perfume. Take Mariah Carey for instance,Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian(eghhhh, tacky), and Victoria AND David Beckum. These are all sucky famous people of course, so they probably aren't the greatest examples to prove my point, BUT, with that said, obviously you have ZERO talent as an artist if you stoop as low as too create a parfume line with your name on it and expect people to respect you for it, or to buy it just because it is you who brands it. Now I do think Kim Kardashian's parfume smells good, but will I buy it? No. I think Dolca and Gabbana's "The One" perfume in Rose smells amazing and will/would I buy it? Yes. D & G didn't get famous from creating a sex tape with Ray Jay or with anyone for that matter, therefore I would happily purchase their smell good perfume. Kim Kardashian's? Heck no.

Next Subject. =)=)

On a more positive note, I'd die for Chanel's Calfskin Clogs(as seen in this month's issue of Vogue). They are studded and chunky but classy and durable, and have I mentioned AMAZING? Check them out here
<3 <3 <3 Photobucket

Lastly, I'd love to rant about another idea that I LOVE and will now steal. And that is women wearing their boyfriend's clothes(or simply women wearing men's clothes). This idea is embellished in this month's Vogue, and after reading over it and looking at the pictures of ideas I'd wished the 2 page spread was more like 4 pages. It opens the doors to a new world of dressing. The pictures show a model wearing her boyfriend's J. Crew button up shirt with khaki pants and a cape. Yes, a cape. The cape is a bit too boring looking for my taste, but I'd definitely rock it after spicing up the outfit. There is also a nautical knitted black and white striped sweater that I loved, as well as a khaki trench coat and a black velvet Dior dinner jacket/blazer. MmmMMmm love. Matt does have a striped nautical looking button up that I might have to adopt.

Destruction or dump them??

My favorite H&M black skinny jeans are too big for me.
When I bought them they were already a size or 2 too big, but I was in a rush and they were really comfortable. Call it stupid, and impulsive, because it is, but now I don't know what to do because they are starting to look a little droopy. Yesterday I took a razor and shaved them a bit here and there to add some edge. I figured the destructive look could create some distraction if people start to notice their droppiness. Or I could cut them into longer shorts since I keep telling myself that I need some black ones. Hmmmmm mmmmm I think I'll mess around with some bleach today and REALLY fff them up.

I'll let you know what happens later. Bbbb yyyyy Eeeee

Shot with Acne Arrows...

Dear Acne Atacoma Wedges in black,

I've developed a serious crush on you...
I don't know what I shall do.
While my boyfriend sleeps, I lie awake and dream
about you...
your smooth texture
your denseness,
your sleek style.

I'm falling hard
&& starting to believe
I will not be content unless
you are in my possession.
Help me!

I love you,

With love,
Eileen

P.s. Lately, I've been catching myself thinking about your Baby Blue Suede Platforms late at night, and I sneak out of the bedroom to steal a glance
of them on the Internet. Maybe we could work something out between the 3 of us??

Arnold + Appleton

There is nothing better than an 8 oz. glass filled half way with Appleton Jamaican rum + an Arnold Palmer. If you haven't tried an Arnold Palmer, please drive/walk to the closest gas station and purchase one of the $.99 Arizona teas as quickly as you can, and then finish reading this post. It is a combination of half ice tea and half lemonade, so basically it is a combination of heaven and teddy bears. While sitting in 5 o'clock traffic on the way home from work I popped open a can and did some deep breathing exercises. Well, not really, but I did enjoy the beverage and the late afternoon, early evening sunlight. I've decided that 5:00pm is my favorite time of day. The sun is about to set, but it's not as cliquey AS the sunset. Around this time, I notice that half the trees are lit up in an orangey light while the other half is a bluish black color, since the sun is half way hidden. I enjoy taking unfocused pictures around this time while driving, still, because I always want to send them to people to share the "ahhh' moment but never do because it's kind of lame. I guess it's a combination of getting off of work + an Arnold Palmer + the time of day. And heaven and teddy bears. Try it sometime!

another day another dollar lost

So I tried Blue Moon's Spring Ale last night.
This beer must have been brewed specifically for hazing ceremonies because it SUCKS. I'd compare it to Bud-light, and as we all know, Bud-light is for underage high school kids who get hobos to buy their 12 packs for them. Yes we've all been there, I know I have, but all knowledgeable drinkers know that bud-light is at the bottom of the totem poll, and therefore only purchased for keg parties and flip cup games. Anyhow, a person would think Blue Moon's Spring Ale would taste as diversified as it's Winter Ale, but no. The packaging surely gets you for one thing, "...limes and lime peels give it a smooth, balanced taste...". First of all, I like lime in my brew. Real lime, not the m.s.g.-a-fied taste of lime additive in beer, but at times I will try the lime inspired ales, like last night for instance. BUT the lime taste was no where in sight and it left my taste buds screaming murder. A beer is supposed to be refreshing, but this one is not. It left my mouth feeling dry, as well as my emotions, AND my wallet since I had let Matt waste $8.50 on this 6-pack. In this case, the "smooth, balanced taste" description is synonymous with "dry, bland, and leaves your mouth wanting". Let's just say this beersperience, was far from a happy ending.

I'll be back laterrrrrrrrr X's & O's
